How to add Image in WordPress Menu

Are you want to add image in your menu before the link text, then keep close attention in this post. Today i am going to share easy and simple step to add Image in your WordPress Menu.

If you add the image related to the menu text, then it is more user front-end and easy to understand. In this tutorial i am sharing a WordPress plugin to add image in menu items.


Menu Image wordpress plugin will add a field to upload the image in your menu item and it will display inside the menu before link text. You can also upload second image for mouse hover effect. By default first image will be display inside menu and after mouse over second image will display.

You can also uplaod from your computer OR also select media files from wordpress media up-loader. It is also compatible with WPML (WordPress Multi Language).

How to install Menu Image Plugin

If you are just started with WordPress Read: How to Install a WordPress Plugin. Follow below steps to install this plugin:

Step 1) Download the latest version of plugin and upload to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory of your website.

Step 2) Now login in your admin dashboard and activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu.

Step 3) After activated, go to Appearance => Menus and select your menu in which you want to add image than click Save Menu.

After above step visit your website and you will see the image before menu text. If you are using WPML plugin in your website, then go to WPML => WP Menus Sync and click to Sync option.
