Hi WordPress folks, hope you are in good health and spirit. Today, I am going to describe the basic functionality of WordPress. You will get automatically this features when you installed WordPress.

This tutorial is specially designed for WordPress beginners OR whom who want to start with WordPress.

  • How to Add a Tag.
  • How to Edit Tag.
  • How to Delete an existing Tag.

What are Tags

WordPress tags play very important role in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for your blog or websites. You can define your SEO keywords using tags. You can add tags in your current post OR your future blog posts to get potential visitors to your WordPress blog/websites.

How to Add a Tag

There are two ways to add tags to your WordPress blog. login to your admin dashboard and navigate to the Posts => tags and click on the Tags sub-menu. Now enter the name, slug, description, and click on Add New Tag to add a new tag in your blog.

The second way to add tags to your blog. You can also add tag directly from edit post screen during writing the new posts OR editing the old blog posts.

How to Edit Tag

After logging in your admin panel go to the Posts => tags and click on the Tags sub-menu. On the listing of all tags hover on the tags and click on the edit option to update the existing tags.

How to Delete an existing Tag.

Navigate to the Posts => tags and click on the Tags sub-menu. On the listing of all tags hover on the tags and click on the delete option to delete that particular tag.

You can also delete the multiple the tags one time. Select the multiple tags and then select the Delete option from Bulk Action drop-down to delete multiple tags at one time.
