How to Export and Import a WordPress Menu

By default WordPress has not provide an option to export the navigation menus from your WordPress site.

If you want to export all navigation menus, then keep your close attention in this post as I am going to share how to export and import a WordPress menu. This is a step by step guides to export and import WordPress navigation menus.

How to Export and Import a WordPress Menu

  1. Log in to the site as an administrator
  2. Go to Tools: Import in the WordPress admin panel
  3. Install the “WordPress” importer from the list
  4. Activate & Run Importer
  5. Upload the xml file using the form provided on the page
  6. You will first be asked to map the authors in the export file to users on the site. For each author, you may choose to map to an existing user on the site or to create a new user.
  7. WordPress will then import menus contained in the xml file into your site
  8. See the below screenshot.
