What are the dialog boxes that are supported in android?

What is dialog box?

A dialog is a small window that prompts the user to make a decision or enter additional information. A dialog does not fill the screen and is normally used for modal events that require users to take an action before they can proceed.

Below are the list of dialog boxes that are supported in android latest version.

  • Alert Dialog: This dialog box display an alert dialog box supports 0 to 3 buttons and a list of selectable elements, including check boxes and radio buttons.
  • Progress Dialog: This dialog box displays a progress wheel or progress bar. It is an extension of AlertDialog and supports adding buttons.
  • Date Picker Dialog: This dialog box is used for selecting a date by the user.
  • Time picker Dialog: This dialog box is used for selecting a time by the user.
